My first call was horrific and the guy I spoke to was not at all helpful. I rang back out of desperation and spoke to the amazing Ahmed who was a super hero !!! He saved us from being stranded at Turin airport and we will be forever grateful .what a difference in 2 phone calls , thank you so much AHMED and your kind patient calm ways .

Customers be cautious using gold car rental via easyJet car hire

I booked and paid for a 2-week car rental from EasyJet car hire at Malaga airport beginning on 19 February until 5 March. When we arrived at the airport, we struggled to find the Gold Car desk.

We eventually found it in the basement. Once we got to the desk after a long wait, I was told that there was a significant delay because the cars were not clean. One poor customer had waited 3 hours for his pre-booked car.

The lady went through all the paperwork with me then told me that I didn't have any car insurance. I tried to open the email confirmation from EasyJet Car Hire, which I thought mentioned that I had bought insurance.

However, as we were underground in the airport, I could not get any signal at all on my phone to open anything. The lady at the desk told me in broken English that she was certain I didn't have insurance. She would not let me take the car unless I bought insurance from her, which cost over 400 euros. As my holiday accommodation is very rural, I can only reach it by car.

Therefore, I had no choice but to buy the insurance. She was refusing to release the car to me until I did.

Once I reached my destination, I looked at the email from EasyJet and found that I did indeed buy insurance when I booked the car rental. The woman at the Gold Cars desk had scammed me, as well as every English customer she dealt with while I was waiting my turn.

I would also like to point out that I was asked to sign for the car (once I had paid) and told that my agreement would be emailed to me. The email I received later stated that I had inspected the car, and my signature was my agreement of the damages, scratches etc.

Notice to take Easyjet Car Rental to Small Claims Court .

We had an exceptional circumstance at Geneva Airport and our car hire was rejected . The Europcar rep was totally unhelpful and obnoxious .

I have had communication with numerous car trawler reps none English . Please can you provide me EasyJet Ireland Address so I can take you to the small claims court with maximum publicity .

I booked a flight and car rental through EasyJet under my name. I named my husband as the driver on the EasyJet form, but this information was not passed on to Cartrawler, the agency that handles such matters, nor to Hertz who subsequently charged us an extra 90 for him to drive. EasyJet is responsible but refuses to address the issue.

Non refund of extra payment

We were told in our agreement to pick up the car we had chosen at the Noleggiare desk in Rome airport. Until I had paid I had no idea which rental company I would be obtaining the car I had rented through easyJet car rental.

I had paid for the chosen car to EasyJet and chose premium car insurance which I understand was underwritten by AXA insurance. However, Noleggiare refused to accept this and demanded a new agreement and insurance. They would not accept the insurance I had arranged in England. I was not aware that EasyJet do not have a car rental firm, this is carried out by cartrawler.

So we were forced to pay twice for the car we had already booked. EasyJet car rental are refusing to refund the amount we were charged 748.

I had documents in my hand which said I should have a credit card on me that would accept a charge of around 600 as this might be asked for and that this would be returned to me if the car was returned undamaged, which it was. I have been offered the insurance premium back which I originally paid in England which was actually only £56.81 I want the 748 returned or at least the price I paid easyJet for the car hire which was £399.77.

I paid twice for the same car and was bullied into it at Rome airport otherwise we would have been stranded.

I am sending this case to the Financial Ombudsman.

User's recommendation: Please reconsider the information from the Customer services Car rental Easy jet. They could mislead you with a wrong information. I have been told that I don't need a credit card for my booking and appeared that this is not true. When I picked the car in the other rent I had to pay again for the car insurance.I would look for another provider for the future but not Easy jet Car rental. I have tried to elevate this issue with the customer services, but they decided to close my case and left it unresolved. It is very disappointing nting.

Car hire deposit

On 25 June 2024 we traveled to Olbia in Sardinia for our holiday, initially we had booked a Citroen C1 for our stay on the island. We asked if the car had a satellite navigational system, but was informed it did not , so we upgraded our vehicle to a Volkswagen T-Cross and had to pay a deposit of 100 euros to protect ourselves/policy for damage to the vehicle.

On returning the vehicle on 04 July i was informed by the car hire company, Goldcar to reclaim our deposit directly from easyJet.

Cancelled hire car

Booking ref:K6WN578. I booked a hire car from you for the period of two weeks, from the 11th Sept to the 25th Sept.

From Cyprus to Birmingham. Our Flight was delayed an hour in Cyprus causing us to be late in picking up the hire car. Subsequently the office closed whe we arrived. We went back the next day, only to discover that to get another car, we had to pay again.

So lost our money we had paid a total of £545.70. I don't think we should have been charged for the first czr as it wasn't our fault we couldn't collect the car on time.

I rented a car but I could not get it because of high deposit

I rented a car when I booked my flight and I paid everything requested. On the day of the flight, we waited a long time for the gate and boarding time, and then waited inside the flight.

My 8-year-old daughter and I were already tired from all the processes and wanted to arrive in Antalya, dreaming of getting the car and relaxing. After a long, noisy, and disturbed flight, we arrived in Antalya. We got our luggage but were terribly tired. I called the car rental office, they said to wait for a meeting.

Finally, someone came to collect us and took us to the office. After we arrived, I got a shock when they asked me to pay a deposit of a minimum of 650 EUR, but the whole amount was actually 1100 EUR. I couldn't understand it at first because nothing was mentioned when I rented the car. I said I did not see these details and EasyJet never mentioned that I have to pay this amount when I paid the rent amount.

They checked the whole agreement and this detail was written at the end of the page.

We were so tired and shocked about the deposit and finally, I couldn't get the car because I couldn't pay that deposit.

I would never rent a car if this amount was clearly mentioned when I rented it because I am a single mother and I don't have this type of money to pay.

This kind of detail should be strongly mentioned when renting a car before the payment is done.

A COMPANY like EasyJet should not put these important details at the end of the emails and should protect the customers.

It was a great disappointment!!!

I couldn't get the car, and I didn't use it; therefore, I strongly request a refund of £94.88

I am looking forward to hearing from you ASAP.

Flying with easyJet is ok! The concept is a low budget company so after all and in the end of the day you are saving money and they are really trying their best to charge extra for something which they usually succeed no matter how good you try to avoid that.

But the point here is their rental car service or company.

It does not exist!

They do not own cars at least in this part of the world!

They contract other companies. This one in Agadir was wheego.

When a get outside the airport where should be someone waiting for me.

I did not find no one.

There was not a banner or anything else to identify the company in fact this so call guy waiting for me outside was not even in the airport parking lot. He was in a cofffee outside the airport and I only found that because someone offered me some help and call him on the phone and then asks for money after the help usual around there.

By this time I was already tiered specially for what would come next.

I rent a Dacia Sandero and this guy wanted to give me Kia picanto a much smaller car.

After some arguments I took a Dacia Logan an old car incredibly dirty and scratched witch is a good thing in Morocco and running out of diesel and I even had to pay extra for that. A normal day in Morocco.

The reason I choose EasyJet it was because I thought I would avoid all this Morocco drama with them.

It turns out to be the full drama package!

By the Way I already went to Morocco at least 10 times in my whole life so I know their way.

I thought I would solve the extra money issue with easyJet after because it looked obviously different car much worst car more money

Costumer service doesnt exist.

They dont care at all.

Send them videos, photos, bank transactions but nothing

Its really a car hire to avoid! A no go area.

Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Attempted Upselling at Klass Wagen Rent Car

Dear Klass Wagen Rent Car Management,

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received on 08/04/2024 at your Lisbon airport location. My family and I arrived at the airport at 20:40 and waited outside for the shuttle bus, which arrived at 21:05, causing us to wait for an hour in the cold with tired and restless children.

Upon finally reaching the rental office, we were further dismayed by the lack of efficiency and professionalism.

We waited an additional 30 minutes for someone to assist us, only to be met by a young staff member who proceeded to aggressively push additional insurance coverage on us. Despite explaining that I had already purchased full coverage through EasyJet, he persisted in attempting to sell me another insurance package for 190 euros.

Not only was this behavior rude and disrespectful, but it left me feeling as though I was being taken advantage of. When I attempted to discuss the matter further, the staff member dismissed my concerns, stating that I was wasting his time.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your company.

Due to this experience and the attempted upselling tactics, I have decided to cancel my reservation with Klass Wagen Rent Car. It is disheartening to see a company prioritize profits over customer satisfaction, especially during what should have been a straightforward rental process.

I had to incur additional expenses by using an Uber to reach our hotel.

I expect a full refund of any fees associated with my canceled reservation and hope that you will take this feedback seriously to improve the quality of service at your establishment.

They booked my time to pick up the car same time as I land and same time as the car company closes.

They deny on the phone that it auto selected this but I know it did because I thought it odd only to find the office shuts at the same time. So they do know it just puts that time in to make sure it is booked.

Easy jet now tell me on line that the time plane is on time at 23:10 arrival which is ten minutes past the time the car company closes.

So now checking the day before they are like no problem.

Well it is a problem I arrive almost midnight I have 50 minutes to get from landing through and pick up luggage go through passport control and find the car company in another terminal.

And they say no problem you should look at the terms and conditions. Yep I am looking at the terms and conditions and I further find I paid for a terrible insurance as well. Because in the small print I have to have a credit card with a £1600 balance available.

Oh so the extra £70 I paid was for what exactly ? Nada

Gets even worse when you go through the hidden terms Apparently I have to go in uk gov and get some sort of pin linked to my driving licence Then two statement s Utility bill Bank statement linked to the card All have to have been delivered through the mail internet copy not accepted Well these luddites can’t have those as I went online years ago The insurance is an absolute fraud

It did not get worse, their policies you described are only for those that don’t have the required funds available on a credit card. They actually are quite liberal policies.

Not true I paid for excess cover Then in the detail it says my card will also be blocked by the car provider up to 1600 gbp Therefore I am paying for excess cover and then they block my card for 1600 !! I’m not the only one who says this is a scam read through comments there is a clear thread of dishonesty with this company It’s not just with one representative the two I have so far dealt with have both lied They claim I declared I was a resident of spain well I am not so why would I declare I was a resident of spain ? There is no benefit to me They also claim I stated I needed the car at 23:00 - that’s a lie too And you can see other people have been conned on this below The car rental office closes at 23:00 they prepopulated the form for 23:00 they are dishonest

I paid for excess insurance and in the small Print I must turn up to the car rental company with recent bank statements and utility bills of the postal type online is not accepted Well Noah we have moved on these days from postman mine are online so o won’t be providing these and in their small print it is regarded as if I have broken the terms so I cancel before hand and save having the full deduction See other people’s complaints below it’s a scam of theirs
