Told I’d been upgraded to a new car 2025 model had a lot of damage ie scratches all over when I returned it the lad told me not to worry as it was from Dublin an they had lots of cars the same .
The veh obviously hadnt been seen by the company representative when it was issued to myself . The car was parked about 1/4 of a mile away from the budget office an I was told the vehicle was brand new so there would be no damage . See photos below a you can see photos were taken on site at parking bay 46 .

We were on an Easy jet flight from Glasgow to Luton where we were to pick up a car from easy car hire. The Easy jet flight was 2 hours late which meant the car hire office was closed.
No problem we thought, we would stay in a hotel at the airport and pick up the car next morning, 7 hours later. Guess what...They wanted to charge us £300 to pick the car up next morning. explained we were on an Easy Jet flight which was delayed. Apparently they use a thing called "live pricing" which basically means if they're busy they can drop you and take another booking for an inflated price.
The person who dealt with us didn't understand the issue.
Horrific customer service, didn't care we had no hotel or car. Avoid like the plague.

Hello, I would like to complain about the rental car process. After arrival in Kefalonia, Greece, we went to pick up the car, and the man at Centauro Cars wanted ONLY a credit card to use for the deposit.
However, we didn't have one, and he refused any kind of debit card, even an EU debit card. We have always used only a debit card to rent a car for the past 10 years and never had any problems! But then the man said he would take the debit card for the deposit, but we MUST pay extra insurance of 300 euros! For only 10 days of holidays, this rental car is more expensive than the holidays per person.
This practice is very deceitful and disgusting as it robs people of more money. We would like a refund.

Excess waiver insurance sold by EasyJet with AXA is not accepted by Europcar. Despite assurance on the booking voucher that no further insurance needs to be bought when picking up the car, Europcar still tried to upsell insurance for £30+ per day, saying that third-party insurance is not valid. Someone's not telling the truth here.

Hello,
According to the proposal of the EasyJet company, I rented a car at Porto airport and prepaid online the amount of 106.90 as a booking.
Once arrived, we asked to upgrade the car to a bigger one because we were three and needed more space.
For this, the rental car people at the place required two different credit cards to implement and divide the deposit into two amounts. They redid the contract but didn't take into account my prepayment done; I realized that point later.
I requested a refund of the prepayment, but despite the proofs (the two contracts), I received this laconic answer below:
'Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email regarding your rental in Portugal.
I hope this email finds you well.
I'm sorry to hear that you had been charged for a new booking as an upgrade. I'm sorry to inform you that we can't issue a refund after the pickup time has passed. Also, we offer our sincere apologies regarding the issue you faced. But you made the booking through us, so if you needed to change anything, you should contact us regarding this matter at the rental desk.

User's recommendation: Never book car through other company (air or any other intermediate) than rental car themselves (even the cheaper ones), here as e.g. Easy Jet. First of all, to avoid huge deposit, due to the insurance that is not the one of the rental car company (even if full insurance is selected). This could be a problem if a problem happens. you could adavnced big amounts before difficulties to get the refund. So, go to rental companies directly and negociate, you will get real advantages.

EasyJet car rental haven’t even read my complaint, let alone responded to it. Completely ignored.
I emailed Easyjet car rental whilst I was on holiday to lodge a complaint, they wrote back to say that Gold car had ignored my email. Tried again after I returned the vehicle but getting nowhere with both EasyJet and Gold car.
Gold cars “compulsory” insurance cost more for 2 weeks than my vehicle in UK costs for a full year! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
We eventually found it in the basement. Once we got to the desk after a long wait, I was told that there was a significant delay because the cars were not clean. One poor customer had waited 3 hours for his pre-booked car.
The lady went through all the paperwork with me then told me that I didn't have any car insurance. I tried to open the email confirmation from EasyJet Car Hire, which I thought mentioned that I had bought insurance.
However, as we were underground in the airport, I could not get any signal at all on my phone to open anything. The lady at the desk told me in broken English that she was certain I didn't have insurance. She would not let me take the car unless I bought insurance from her, which cost over 400 euros. As my holiday accommodation is very rural, I can only reach it by car.
Therefore, I had no choice but to buy the insurance. She was refusing to release the car to me until I did.
Once I reached my destination, I looked at the email from EasyJet and found that I did indeed buy insurance when I booked the car rental. The woman at the Gold Cars desk had scammed me, as well as every English customer she dealt with while I was waiting my turn.
I would also like to point out that I was asked to sign for the car (once I had paid) and told that my agreement would be emailed to me. The email I received later stated that I had inspected the car, and my signature was my agreement of the damages, scratches etc.

They force car insurance onto the customer claiming that they won’t release the car to you unless you purchase it. They also ask you to sign the “agreement” before seeing the car which turns out is a damage waiver.
My car hire was cancelled because my flight was delayed
I booked easy car hire on my easyJet app after booking my easyJet flight. They automatically put in my flight details and the whole process seemed quite easy and good value.
The flight sat on the runway for 45 minutes which made me 15 minutes late collecting the car where I was told my booking was closed and therefore no booking !
I had to re book another car and pay double the price ! I had even took out their insurance which was a waste of time!
So frustrating! Never again easy car!!!

J'ai fait la pré-vérification de la location de la voiture en indiquant le nom et les coordonnées du conducteur principal, mais les informations n'ont pas été transmises au loueur. J'ai donc dû payer une énorme assurance pour récupérer le véhicule. Je souhaite être dédommagée.

Change of name
My first call was horrific and the guy I spoke to was not at all helpful. I rang back out of desperation and spoke to the amazing Ahmed who was a super hero !!! He saved us from being stranded at Turin airport and we will be forever grateful .what a difference in 2 phone calls , thank you so much AHMED and your kind patient calm ways .
