Easyjet are ripping people off

We were slightly late into Bordeaux - Rentscape is staffed with 4/5 people only 1 working. The signature machine was broken, the car was supposed to be full of petrol and was only half full.

So a bit crap.

But as we were late the car company made us pay in full again for the whole booking. Easy jet have refused to repay the cost of the 4 day hire.

Rentscape also . So easy jet are not only choosing low quality suppliers but are ripping their consumers off.

EasyJet... Your car hire plan is a good idea and could work well. But you need a *** of a lot of work to do to make it that way.

Saltzburg Austria we are given a phone number and on calling it we get an instruction to meet in a multi story car park on the third floor to meet a man who was unprofessional and insignificant and on introducing himself got annoyed that we asked him for id.. Apparently it's illegal to do this in Austria.

Dodgy situation a bit like buying a car in strange circumstances , the car we are given is Bulgarian and we are then told we cannot leave Austria because charges will incure. We then have to arrange for 1400 euros to be paid to an account using a credit card. The whole arrangement stank to be honest and we didn't get the car we were promised. It went well as it happened and wasn't any further issues but you seriously need to clean the act up.

It simply isn't professional and looks bad on you easyJet. At least get an office desk and not do this outside or in a dodgy car park.

Preferred solution: Feedback would be nice. This rental system could work but it's dodgy.

A vow to only use a car rental car company directly, and not through a scamming third party.

I had rented the car through Easy Jet, it seemed logical, however once at the Europcar check in I discovered there was a 100 deposit for fuel, but even worse the 3rd party insurance they had sold me did not fully cover, and they required either a 500 deposit that would be taken off my card or to pay an additional 78 to correctly cover the insurance. No choice really! So 78 down, and I got to the car, which was in quite a dark park, and on leaving the airport with the sun shining found out how dirty the windows were, and once I could get to a service station was able to inspect the car properly, which was filthy inside and out, and had quite a lot of body work damage.

You have taken my payment for the car hire which I never got as no one was their when I arrived, it cost me a fortune on taxis the 2 days I was down in England

I booked the car hire a the same time as my flights so took it the car hire place knew when my flight would arrive, I got a flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick where no one was their for me to collect the car, I had to get a taxi to and from Portsmouth where I had a wedding.. it cost me a fortune and I did not get the car I have paid for

Awful experience - never again!

I rented a car with Hertz via Easyjet app which uses Cartrawler for a short drive in France. They forced me to buy two identical insurance policies, piled on unknown charges and when I disputed them, they requested bank documents which I sent but their own system is rejecting my emails!

It's almost impossible to get through to anyone. Don't touch Cartrawler or Easyjet Car Rental with a barge pole!Do

Nobody here for car hire

Our flight arrived at Gatwick from Edinburgh at 23:45 we were at the europcar help desk for 00:05 and nobody was here we now have no transport to get to Portsmouth and nowhere to stay

Money paid but didn't get the car

I booked a car for 8 days via easyjet rental cars. The car company refused to rent me the car as my 1st name on my credit card was abbreviated and the terms and conditions of easyjet don't accept such cards.

My credit card provider (a Swiss bank) said the card is absolutely fine and I can use it for the deposit. Nevertheless I have travelled with that card for the last 15 years and never had any problems. I stayed in the middle of night in a foreign country without a car.

I lost all the money I paid incl insurance as easyjet did accept the cancellation. The car rental company threw me out of their office and refused to use their free shuttle to go back to the airport in order to search for another car.

You don’t say what you legal first name is and what exactly is on your credit card. I assume you are in the EU somewhere.

The standard that needs to be met is this.

If the name on your credit card was printed on an airline ticket for a flight from Madrid to New York City, would airport security look at the name on the ticket and the name on your passport and let you travel and check you in? If they would than easyjet should have allowed rental.

You will see many more complaints they are trash

Check out trustpilot web site

Please also see book cartrawler under cartrawler as people will find this rubbish provider easier to spot.

They are acting fraudulently and should be closed down.

Refused car rental and the full cost non refundable

I went to the Drivalia desk at Gatwick airport at the allotted time at 21:30 on Christmas Eve to pick up my easyJet car rental.

I was refused the rental due to my digital card being out of date. I carried my paper copy which states that my driving licence is valid until 2029.

I hold a full, clean British driving licence.

My National Insurance number plus Driving licence number on the DVLA site could have verified my eligability to drive in a matter of seconds.

I was at all times treated by the Drivalia employee with lethargy and disinterest.

Having no means of onward travel to North Yorkshire, I had to book an hotel room where I spent the remainder of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Easyjet have instructed me that this is classed as a 'No Show', which indeed it was not, and are retaining the full amount of the rental price, which is in excess of £385.00.

I could understand this if I had undeclared endorsements on my licence, or anadaquate funds for the guarantee.

This is yet another example of so many companies, post covid, taking advantage of the customer wherever possible.

I feel there is no place in society since covid for integrity or customer care.

I would have expected a booking charge charge! However easyJet and Drivalia are now sharing out the monies of a car rental that wasn't rented!

I hope that people take heed and you take the losses that my bad experience merits.

Yep I have posted all over easyJet’s linked in pages warning people not to use easy jet car rental it’s an utter con RIP offf merchants Cancelled it before I get turned away at the desk and took the 150 losss instead of 400 Will be going through the uk financial ombudsman for misold insurance Since I’ve been in insurance for thirty years I know they are going to lose hands down It will be enjoyable Might do an online small claim court or a CCJ against them - they fully deserve it

We not used the hire vehicle because they said the insurance we taken out doesnt cover the car they wanted us take another policy out which was expensive plus the car had scratches all over it and they wanted further payments
